Dan Jacobsen grew up under the influence of Warren Wiersbe, who happened to be his famous grandfather. His grandfather mentored him in the early days of Dan’s ministry journey. Soon after Wiersbe died at the age of 89, an unfinished book was discovered that was being written as a 100-day devotional. At the urging of his family, Dan accepted the role of completing his grandfather’s final work.
Dan joins Dale on today’s 95Podcast to discuss the responsibility of completing his famous grandfather’s final work. This is an excellent conversation about staying true to the author’s communication while including a style that connects all generations.

Key Takeaways
1) The responsibility of editing and finishing your famous grandfather’s last book is not for the faint of heart. I was thankful to have my mom (Warren Wiersbe’s daughter) looking over my shoulder.
2) Warren wanted everyone to fall in love with the Bible. He knew it had the power to change a life.
3) One goal of the devotional book is to move its reader toward spiritual transformation. Just like a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, you can transform from a new Christian to a mature believer by studying God’s Word.
4) All ministry leaders must embrace the important goal of bridging the generational gap. Both older and younger generations need each other more than ever.
