This week, many conversations are happening that should have been happening for many years. And that’s true about our ministry as well.
I met Harold Coleman about 14 years ago when we were both part of the same church in South Carolina. I’ve always loved his leadership, friendship, and as of late have greatly appreciated his insight and honesty into what is currently happening in our country.
Today, Harold graciously took some time to talk to us about his experience as a black man in America, why churches aren’t exempt from this issue, some honest insight into the difficult journey of addressing racial reconciliation with our congregations, and why “doing” more and “talking” less is a more effective strategy moving forward.
I know there are a lot of conversations happening right now around this topic, so I really encourage you to listen through this or other conversations that are occurring. And overall, please lean in during this moment in our country. Don’t ignore it. Don’t shy away from it. And take some courageous steps forward.
