Joy In The Journey (w/ Michael Schooley) – Episode 234

One of the most important leadership principles we all need to learn is that Jesus isn’t in a hurry! He has a plan. He is working on His plan, and He wants us to participate in it. However, many of us put unnecessary pressure on our lives to do ministry “for” Him instead of “from” Him. Although it’s taken some time, Michael Schooley is a pastor who knows first-hand the fulfillment of Jesus working through him.

Michael joins Dale on today’s 95Podcast to discuss the journey from being a committed youth pastor to becoming a church planter. Their conversation is refreshing as they tackle some of the issues facing a pastor in today’s culture.

Key Takeaways

1) It should always be difficult to leave a ministry when the season is over, especially when working with youth.

2) God often takes discouraging circumstances and turns them for our good in the future.

3) Every church planter must learn that recruiting and empowering volunteers should be the priority from the start. You simply can’t do everything yourself.

4) Although we often don’t see the results of our ministry efforts, having an annual church getaway where you hear testimonies and baptize new believers can be encouraging.
